In collaboration with Permanent Style, we have developed this classically-styled piece of outerwear modelled on archival cavalry garb from the late 19th Century.
An indispensable garment (for us here in perpetually rainy London, at least). This is our idea of the perfect raincoat: a single-breasted, fly-fronted piece which draws on, and works well with, both casual and more sartorial looks.
It's generous in length and body, unlike a lot of modern raincoats, and the belt at the waist can be cinched to create shape. It is cut from a densely woven cotton spun in Como, which repels water and wind, making it ideal for a stroll through the country, or equally for a blustery day around town.
Throw it over denim and your favourite piece of knitwear, or with a suit and tie for an effortlessly elegant look, even if it is pouring down.
